Burning Witches Live in Toronto: A Fiery Finale at The Garrison (Review/Photos)

Burning Witches left their brooms behind and brought a storm of heavy power metal to Toronto on Thursday night, April 23, 2026, at The Garrison. This marked the final stop on their 26-city Witches Over North America Tour—and they made sure to end it with fire.
Seeing them for the first time, I wondered what kind of witchcraft they would cast upon us—and I must say, I was left wanting more.
These ladies aren’t just incredibly skilled musicians; they know how to command a stage. From synchronized headbanging to constantly shifting formations, they made sure every fan felt connected and had a clear view of the action.
Frontwoman Laura Guldemond gave it her all, delivering powerhouse vocals with both grit and precision. Her charisma is undeniable—whether she’s belting out soaring choruses or leaning into the crowd to share the mic, she creates a genuine connection that turns the audience into part of the show. Fans raised their horns high, matching her energy every step of the way.
On guitar, Romana Kalkuhl—the band’s founder—anchors the entire performance with razor-sharp riffs and commanding presence. You can feel her leadership in every transition; she’s the driving force behind the band’s tight, classic-meets-modern power metal sound.
Alongside her, Courtney Cox brings a fiery, high-energy style that lights up the stage. Her solos are both melodic and electrifying, adding a dynamic edge that keeps each song feeling alive and unpredictable.
Bassist Jeanine Grob holds everything down with a cool, confident groove. Her stage presence is effortlessly strong, locking in with the drums while still engaging the crowd with subtle but powerful movements.
Behind the kit, Lala Frischknecht is an absolute force. Her drumming is fast, precise, and relentless—providing the heartbeat of the band while making it look effortless. There’s a controlled intensity in her playing that drives every track forward.
